If you pay for Microsoft 365 — Word, Excel, Outlook — you might already be paying for AI and not using it. It's called Copilot, and it sits right inside the apps you open every day. No new app, no new login.

Here's where it earns its keep.

In Outlook, your inbox gets shorter. Ask it to sum up a long email thread before you reply, or draft an answer you just tweak. The morning email pile stops eating your first hour.

In Word, the blank page fills itself. Give it a few notes and ask for a first draft — a quote, a proposal, a customer letter. You're editing instead of staring.

In Excel, spreadsheets stop fighting you. Point at your numbers and ask in plain words: "Which month sold the most?" or "Add these up by customer." No formulas to memorize.

In Teams, you never miss what was said. Missed a meeting? Ask for the recap and what you're on the hook for.

Two honest notes. Copilot costs extra on top of your Microsoft plan, so check what you're paying before you switch it on — for some it's worth it, for others the free Claude or ChatGPT does plenty.
